One night of December 13, 1981, sometime between midnight and early morning, the man chosen to succeed Albanian dictator Enver Hoxa was shot dead. Was he murdered or did he commit suicide and why? The government maintains he killed himself, but rumors fly, guilt festers, and tension mounts as the Successor's daughter, his architect, and the minister of the interior all offer their versions of the bloody event and it's aftermath, until finally from "the other side" the ghost of the Successor himself speaks.
